2012 Scholastic Art Show

The 2012 Scholastic Art Show winners have been announced. Four Herington High School students had their work accepted into the show in Wichita and all four were honored with awards. The Wichita Center for the Arts showcases students from the Eastern one-half of Kansas which includes 70 counties.
Gold Keys are the top award given, followed by Silver Keys and Honorable Mention and works that were chosen to hang in the gallery but were not chosen for awards are on display also.
Vanessa Kiddy won a Silver Key Award in painting. Molly Mercer also received a Silver Key Award for her work in cut paper collage. Sarah Gonzolas won an Honorable Mention with photography and Dallas Pierce won an Honorable Mention with her cut paper collage.
An awards ceremony will take place in Wichita at the Wichita Center for the Arts on February 26th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. The students work will be on display in the gallery from January 31-March 11, 2012. The gallery is closed on Mondays.
